Initial Appointment
We allow one hour to thoroughly assess you and to get to know you. You will have filled in our new patient form.
Your initial visit is an extensive investigation which puts together your history, medical history and a physical examination.
We conduct a thorough physical examination. We measure all your vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, grip strength etc.), your chiropractor will then run through many functional and neurological tests to get a full picture of your current health. This may include tests to check your balance, your range of motion and your reflexes. There might also be neurological tests to assess your sensation and motor responses.
All these tests allow your chiropractor to get a full picture of what has been bothering you. The chiropractor may recommend and refer you to have an X-ray of your spine to complete this assessment.
Depending on your condition your chiropractor will then recommend a program suitable to your condition.
At all times your input is important to us and we welcome feedback and questions at any time.
It is common for your chiropractor to co-manage your condition with other health care practitioners such as your GP, physiotherapist, psychologist, or your nutritionist.
